Après Guangzhou (Chine) en 2014, la 2^nde édition du congrès sur les revêtements multifonctionnels (WPCCT), organisée par l'Université de Nantes (France) et l'Université de Technologie de Guangdong (Chine), aura lieu du 9 au 11 Octobre 2016 à Nantes (France).

Les présentations concerneront la conception et la préparation de revêtements d'outils, de multi-composants et revêtements multicouches, et l'optimisation des outils revêtus notamment pour des applications mécaniques comme par exemple l'usinage de matériaux difficiles à couper. Les phénomènes thermiques lors de l'usinage seront également abordés. Cet évènement vise à faciliter les échanges et les coopérations entre les institutions de recherche, les organismes universitaires, les industries d'outillage et d'autres entreprises de fabrication connexes dans le domaine des outils revêtus. Il offrira une nouvelle occasion pour les scientifiques, les ingénieurs et les entreprises de montrer leurs derniers résultats, leurs nouveaux produits, de partager leurs expériences réussies et de discuter du développement futur dans le domaine des outils revêtus.

Organized by the University of Nantes (France) and Guangdong University of Technology (China), this workshop on Multifunctional Coatings (WPCCT) will be the second conference series. The 1^st edition was launched by the Guangdong University of Technology in 2014 at Guangzhou (China). For the 2^nd edition, we will invite renowned experts in the field of coatings for different applications to participate in the WPCCT2016 meeting at Nantes, France.

This meeting will discuss the design and preparation of the tool coatings, multi-component and multi-layer coatings, and optimization of coated tools in general for mechanical application as for example machining difficult-to-cut materials. Thermal phenomena during machining will be also considered. The workshop aims at improving communications and cooperations among the research institutions, academic organizations, tool industries and other related manufacturing companies in the field of coated tools. It will provide new opportunity for scientists, engineers, and enterprises to show their latest results, newest products, share their successful experiences and discuss the future development in the field of the coated tools.

The 2^nd Workshop on Multifunctional Coatings will be held in Nantes on October 9th-11th, 2016. It will last three days. The agenda contains keynote reports, technical discussions, roundtables, achievement displays...
